The DCC Special School canoe club has been going from strength to strength. It continues to be well supported with all who attend having a great time. A couple of the young paddlers Shaun and Molly are now at the stage where they have decided they would like to compete and so on the 4th June along with the rest of the DCC team members they ventured out on to the river at Greenodd. With support from Mrs Mitton and Carol they each paddled in K2’s down the Crake in the South Lakes Summer Series second race. They both enjoyed themselves so much they can’t wait to compete again in July. Their confidence has grown on and off the water and are becoming very competent paddlers. The other members from the SSCC have made amazing personal achievements with canoeing and kayaking. Just looking at the big smile on their faces makes it all worthwhile.
