8/11/2014

Who do you think has the Most Outstanding racer over the Summer Series?

Picture
THE VOTING IS NOW OVER, AND WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE DOCKS FRIDAY 22nd AUGUST.

As part of the Summer Series of races, we are looking for the best performance. It may be the person who has pushed themselves the most, it may be the person who has overcome their fears, or it may simply be the person that has improved on their times most. The choice is down to the members of the club. Anyone who has raced, helped, or even just spectated can have a vote.

Please only vote once, and not for yourself.

Attached is an up to date summer series table with times and points so you can see how you have progressed over the series and what position you finished in the race (10 points for 1st, 9 for 2nd and so on). As you can see from the table some of the categories have been competitive and there is everything to race for in the last race.

Chester Marathon

8/10/2014

Chester was where the latest installment of the 2014 North West Hasler marathon races took place, it was a beautiful day on the banks of the river Dee at Chester meaning essentials for the day were sun cream and shades. Duddon took 10 senior paddlers and 5 juniors in the lightning series. There were some excellent performances on the day with Brandon & Rhiann getting under 40 minutes for the first time & both finishing 2nd in their divisions. Duddon also had two 3rd place finishers on the day with Scott finishing 3rd in div 5 and Lee Bentley in Div 9. The lightning paddlers performed excellently on the day with 1st and 3rd in the boys under 12's and 1st and 2nd in the girls under 12's and Connor Bentley finishing 3rd in the boys under 10 category. An excellent day was had by paddlers and spectators and I for one cannot wait for the Runcorn race in 3 weeks time.
