Tuesday teatime saw the new DCC satellite club take to the water at the docks for the first time. Youngsters and parents ventured out to explore the docks. As you can see from the smiles everyone had a great time, followed by hot chocolate.
In the depths of the newly acquired workshop at the docks withies ( long thin sticks to you and I ) were being shaped and formed into DCC's latest creation for the Ulverston Lantern Procession. Youngsters and adults alike were covering large pieces of tissue, themselves and everything else in sight with glue as the outer shell was formed over the newly built shape. Once finished "Herbie the remote control beetle car " was born complete with handheld remote.
Once transported to Ulverston and after a few minor repairs it led the way from Hill Foot Garden Centre, down Dalton gate and through town. Here they joined three other processions from different parts of Ulverston. Herbie was brought to life by six youngsters inside and four outside, one on each corner. All arriving at Ford Park in time for a fantastic evening of entertainment ending in a brilliant firework display.
