*Sport England funding is for this age group but we are happy to have younger members.

What is a satellite club?
Satellite Clubs are a Sport England initiative to establish out posts of community sports clubs, for 11 to 25 year olds, based at local schools or colleges.
The ‘Hub Club’ coaches will run the satellite club sessions and advice on its activities. In time satellite club members will train as coaches and take on more of the activities. It will remain part of the ‘Hub Club’ .
The aim is for these young people to enjoy and develop skills in a familiar environment with their peers and gradually join the ‘Hub Club’ activities becoming a full member on leaving full time education.
There is funding for specialist equipment and training administered for Sport England by Active Cumbria.
A satellite club is open to members of the local community that meet the membership criteria.
The Special Schools Canoe Club is part of Duddon Canoe Club and is open to those up to 25 year olds with some degree of disability (and in full time education) and their parents, siblings and carers.
We are happy to have members under 11 years old though the Sport England start-up funding  is for the 11 to 25 year group.
